Vintage Sounds

Remember those little Fisher-Price record players? If you had one, you’ll fondly recall the nostalgic sound of the needle hitting your record of choice, and the first few seconds of anticipation before the sound would start. Maybe you even had an old album or two from your parents like Cowboys and Indians or Peter and the Wolf. Ah, the good old days. Well, don’t fret. Your kids can have that same experience. There are two online resources that have digitized, archived and made available for download some of the Golden Age classics (oh, and we must mention they are free! How often can we say that about anything?) You’ll find albums like “Danny Kay Tells Six Tales from Faraway Places,” “Bozo the Clown” and “Aesop’s Fables.” We especially like the one called “A Child’s Garden of Manners.” Just seeing the album covers will send you back in time. Don’t get us wrong, all the new stuff is great too, but sometimes a little somethin’ old fashioned just warms the heart.
