You have probably seen Dr. Bronner’s soap squirreled away somewhere down one of the grocery aisles. Their labels are colorful with lots of curious writing on them, and whatever is in those bottles looks pretty old fashioned. Well, let’s just put it this way, Dr. Bronner was “green” before there was “green.”
We recommend trying any and all of them, but one that we really like is called Sal Suds. It is an all-purpose cleaner (not a soap), and it is made of plant-based surfactants with natural spruce and fir-needle oils. It cleans like crazy but is completely gentle on the skin. To boot, it is 200% cruelty-free (no animals tested here) and will biodegrade rapidly. Sure, there are lots of new green cleaners out there, but Bronner’s has actually been around for 60 years, and the history is absolutely fascinating. It’s too long to put into this post, but we highly recommend reading it, if you have a chance.
