The Children & Nature Network (C&NN) is at the forefront of a movement to reconnect our kids with the natural world. Time outside these days, especially time that allows for discovery and unstructured play, is becoming more and more limited. And, our childrens’ stress levels and risk of obesity and depression is growing. As a result, C&NN was created to encourage and support the people and organizations working nationally and internationally to reconnect children with nature. The network provides a critical link between researchers and individuals, educators and organizations dedicated to the health and well-being of our kids. It is a fantastic resource for parents, with a wealth of information on what to do and how to get involved in local programs. Also available on the site is a premier set of research studies to help us all understand what’s best for children’s healthy development. Children are smarter, cooperative, happier and healthier when they have frequent and varied opportunities for free and unstructured play in the outdoors.
