For those of you who are in the midst of potty training, or look forward to that phase in your child’s life (and want to be prepared), we have some advice for you. Around here, we have tried quite a few potties. Many of them come with three or four pieces that connect together - lids, buckets to empty, etc. Inevitably, they get dirty and smelly all the time. Cleaning them can be downright icky. That’s why we were psyched when walking through Ikea one day, we spotted the one-piece “Lattsam” for $3.99. It’s a potty that comes in a bunch of colors (bonus) that is one molded piece of plastic. No little compartments where pee can find its way. This potty is as simple as they come, and as functional. If you are in the market, or know someone who is, skip the $20 versions and head for your local Ikea, you won’t regret it. While you are at it, get a couple for the grandparents’ house too!

October 21, 2009This is the greatest Potty ever created! We actually owned four of them - one for each grandparents home, one for downstairs and one up! We’ve even taken it on the road - when our three year old needed to “go” and we weren’t near a rest station - we’d pull over and make use of it. It’s much like the Baby Bjorn model - just a LOT less expensive!
